Now this novel, The Spring I Turned Ugly, is my first genre switcher, but not the last, as I love writing lots of different time periods and themes. This is a coming-of-age, new adult novel, exploring the difficulties of the emerging adult phase with a good amount of humor for all ages. It is a unique story of how those in the later stages of life can truly guide those just figuring out who they are and what they want.
Here is the back cover blurb:
The Spring I Turned Ugly is best described as a modern Steel Magnolias meets American Bridget Jones’s Diary meets The Devil Wears Prada. However, it’s the complete opposite of The Summer I Turned Pretty, since Kiera Starlow hits a snag in life, when everything seems to fall apart the spring of her twenty-third year.
After a shocking breakup with Bodhi, whom she’s known since she was fifteen, Kiera’s world seemed to halt and she did all she could to try to adapt to a much different plan without Bodhi.
However, things only get worse when Bodhi reappears, seemingly wanting her back, four months later just as a humiliating, pinnacle event at work occurs. Kiera’s pushed to go on a nine-day free trip to France, but the hitch is, it’s with five old ladies.
It’s not the new job in New York City (as difficult as that turns out to be), or losing twenty pounds, nor the trip to France that changes Kiera’s life like she thought. It’s the wisdom of five older, exuberant women that puts her back on track.
Sometimes life gives you ugly and, sometimes, it’s when you feel the worst that the story truly begins.
So, just as I offered with my last weeks new release, Heir Unapparent (if you haven’t grabbed up a copy of that yet you can get it here), I have a fantastic giveaway for this novel as well. Be one of the first twenty to leave an honest review on Amazon then copy and paste it on this post in the comments with your full name, then I will pick at random the person I will send, not only all four print copies of The Infinite Series (Infinite Sacrifice, Infinite Devotion, Infinite Loss, and Infinite Faith), but my new historical fiction novel, Heir Unapparent, as well (value over $66)!
