A heartfelt thank you to, Diane, for these stellar awards. Diane has one of the most honest and humorous blogs out there. Check her out. Now. I’ll wait.
I never get tired of adding these cute little badges on my side blog and passing them on.
Okay, so you all know how this works, I divulge seven more truths about me or accept the dare…haha:
1) I once had twenty cats at one time (in my defense I lived on a farm and rescued them all from death row). I’ve decreased my cat hoarding tendency down to two now, but most likely will go back to my cat-habit once my kids are grown.
2) I once took out kayaks with my little sister on a vacation and we didn’t realize until we turned to go back into the harbor that the current was super strong. Instead of choosing to be stranded on one of the goat-inhabited sand bars, we clung on to a huge cruise ship that we drifted out to. I sent my little sister up to get help as I held onto the ship and both kayaks like the hulk. We found out later it was one of the most expensive cruise ships in the world. We gave all the old rich folks a thrill for the day; a pathetic rescue at sea.
3) Ruth Chew was my favorite author when I was little. She has some of the best supernatural ideas ever. Buy them to read with your kids!
4) I once had a pet snapping turtle named Spike.
5) I’m mostly of Irish heritage, which does not explain why I look Spanish/Hawaiian/Native American (someone’s got some explaining to do!)
6) When I was young I didn’t wear any shoes all summer—hmmm…explains hobbit feet now.
7) I’m unable to listen to AM radio, the frequency is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Now to pass on the award love to some truly deserving blogging sistas:
1) Saraflower
4) Writerlious
6) Morgan Shamy
With that, I’m off to notify you all. Can’t wait to learn more about you 🙂
“Someone’s got some explaining to do” <—–LOL! And holy cats! Way fun, Lauren. And thanks for the shout out! Means a lot! ❤ ❤ ❤
You deserve it! I love your blog 🙂
Wow! Fun (and funny!) facts about you! I never would have thought you were Irish descent. Or that you were stranded out at sea LOL
Can’t wait to list seven more things about myself! I’m gonna have to try to top these :b Thanks so much for the nominations. I’ll have the post up on Monday.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with! They are great things to add to your about me page. These random facts really tell you a lot about people.
Haha spike… Land before time fan? Very interesting stuff. You’ve got your next book right there! What a brave little sister to have gone up on the ship. I’m sure they weren’t too happy to see her come up dripping on their deck during lunch.
Ha! She definitely had the worse job, but being the big sister and the only one strong enough to hold on, she was forced to crash their little rich people party. She liked it though…haha.
And he totally looked like Spike from Land Before Time. Probably why I did name him that 🙂
When are you going to get a blog up and running so I can send some of these awards your way?
I’m as close to starting my blog as I am to being my pre-baby weight! I miss my jeans! Haha! I don’t know when I’ll get my life together enough to focus on book/writing. I just moved and have a towel up in my bedroom window acting as a drape until I get around to hanging a proper one. As you can see my blogging days are far far away! Any awards for doing your dishes?
I loved reading some more fun tidbits about you! Your sea rescue must have been pretty intense. 🙂 I have a story of being stuck out in the water, but it is on a much smaller scale. Definitely a fun memory for you and your sister to look back on. Must have been a little freaky at the time though.
It was neat to learn about your heritage as well. lol Your comment about someone needing to explain what happened since you have native/Spanish looks was hilarious.
Thank you very much for the award. 🙂
It was really scary. Especially since my biggest fear is sharks and it involved many rolls out of the kayak. We were also so afraid of embarrassment so we really had to decide between causing a commotion or living off coconuts for days until someone missed us.
I can’t wait to read more about you as well!
Oh my that would have been so frightening! :O
I never knew you had an adventure at sea! That sounds terrifying! Sounds like you both handled yourselves really well though. 🙂
Thanks, Lauren. Hopefully, before the weekend is over, I will be able to respond. Right now I’m exhausted from unpacking. Thanks for thinking of me and the wonderful award.
Ooh –I’ve never heard of Ruth Chew. I’ve so added a handful of her books to me TBR. YAY! I love discovering new authors. 🙂
Thanks for the awards, Lauren. You’re the best!
I have to read them again, but they had the best supernatural themes for kids. I’m going to starting reading some of my favorites with my son. I hope they are good as I remember!
